Tip #1 Plan and Prepare at Night
Benjamin Franklin said it best! If you don’t prepare, then you are preparing to Fail! Get out your organizer or planner and look over the day ahead the night before. Determine how you need to prepare to be successful and productive for the next day. Rather you’re planning for a hectic day at work, a day running with the kids, or gearing up for busy entrepreneurship life–Create Your Daily Action Plan the night before.
No, you can’t plan and/or prepare for everything that may occur (this is “real” life). However, with a good plan you will wake up feeling more in control. And more confident knowing exactly what you need to accomplish for that day. Versus trying to just “get through” the day and hoping you get something (anything) done.
Tip #2 Prioritize Your To-Do-List
The above quote is right on! You have to change your perspective on how you prioritize your schedule and to-do-list. Don’t just prioritize your to-do-list, instead prioritize what tasks you put on your daily to-do-list for. Stop starting with the tasks that don’t matter or are lower priority. And Focus on the Tasks that must be done and will make the MOST Impact for that day.
You don’t need a fancy to-do-list either. I usually just write down my prioritized tasks on a simple index card and stick it inside my planner. Utilizing this tip will make your to-do-list more “doable”–and you can work on lower priority tasks when you have a larger chuck of time.
Tip #3 Take Action Daily
Yep, this goes without saying. Yet, how many times have we had a great idea, formulated a plan, only to let our dreams die because we fail to “Take Action”! Don’t let this be you. Now, that you have a plan, are prepared and have a prioritized list to work from. It is time to Follow Through and Take Consistent Action Daily!
Taking action each day will help you feel more productive. Plus, you won’t feel so overwhelmed just “thinking” about all you have to do because you will be able to see your progress.
